Poppy - 1 Month

Weight - 9 pounds 9.5 ounces
Length - 21 3/4 inches
Head Circumference - 14 1/2 inches

Dear Poppy,

One month and already you have changed so much! Your face has filled out and we are beginning to see creases on your forearms and thighs. Your eyes are still baby blue grey but they are beginning to lighten up a little bit and when you cry you are now producing tears. Your blonde eyebrows are starting to get a little color to them and you've lost the lanugo that used to be on your forehead. After a bath your hair looks more blonde, sticks up in all directions and is fuzzy like a little duckling.

We are now dressing you in 0-3 month clothes, no more newborn clothes for you. It seems like every time I do a load of laundry I am putting something into the outgrown pile. We have also moved you into cloth diapers which, so far, have been able to contain your blowouts. You really like being swaddled, resting in your swing with the music on and sleeping in your bouncy seat. You are not a big fan of the nosefrida, your wubbanub (pacifier) or diaper changes.

After a month your Nana and Granddad returned back to their home in California. Nana had a great time cuddling you as you grew this past month and Granddad enjoyed having deep conversations with you. We all appreciated everything they did to keep the house running - entertaining your sister, grocery shopping, laundry and cooking. They are looking forward to the next time they see you as you will be a completely different little girl.

In the next month we hope you will continue to sleep well and continue to be curious in the world around you. It's fun watching you have more and more alert time everyday and I can't wait to see even more smiles.

Love,
Your Mom, Dad, and big sister Violet
